Our group had to apply for the copyright of Jake Bugg's song "Two Fingers" to the record label mercury records, this was so that we could use the video as we are not claiming ownership of the song but rather the video that we make for educational purposes, if we didn't apply the video could be taken down by the record company as they wouldn't approve of the use of the song without any permission from them. Our group identified that the record label that held the rights to Jake Bugg's content was mercury records and so we went about finding their email. When we found their email we sent them this message:
Me and my group are still awaiting a response, this edit was made 16th November 2015.

This post demonstrates some understanding of why music copyright is essential to carry out. You have made a start in including one example from the industry, but you need to ensure that you have related these points back to the law, to demonstrate further understanding of the industry.
